Pain Pain Go Away.....and don't bother coming back!!

Well, good thing I went in today, Dr. C is out of the office all next week. She thinks it's still Endometriosis and she is still concerned that it is on the bowels, but she couldn't find it. She is still baffled that the Lupron isn't providing the wonderful menopausal side effects. She did a blood test to determine what my Estrogen levels are. If they are at 0, then she's not sure what she'll do. If they are still high, then we wait for them to come down and then the side effects will show up. I told her I need something to take the pain away, but still allow me to function. She has Rx'd Demerol w/Phenagren and Fentynal patches. The hope is that the patches will work within 24-48 hours and provide a constant low dose of pain meds to bring relief. She was very clear this is a very short term solution, that it is not to be considered long term. She also Rx'd a lower dose of Prometrium (progesterone) for me to take daily (100mg). Progesterone discourages the Endo, so she hopes this will give a head start on the Lupron. I have an appointment in 2 weeks for a follow up. She and I both are hoping I go in complaining of hot flashes and mood swings. LOL! I told her that my choice at current moment was going in and taking it all out. She assured me at this point no matter how much begging and praying I do, she won't do it. I told her that I knew that. She said she understands how I'm feeling. I told her I'm willing to still give Lupron it's chance to do it's thing, it's just the dire need of pain relief. She said to hang in there and she'll keep working with me. I'm a challenge to my Dr. She's baffled and really wants there to be relief. She was thrilled to learn that the left side pain was gone. I told her I was surprised to learn the mid-line pain was actually separate from the left side pain. I had thought it was just the left side issue growing. Apparently not. It really helps to have a Dr. who listens and is dedicated to beating this. So that's the scoop. If you could pray that the Lupron hurrys up and kicks in and works, I would be so grateful. Rhonda

I'm praying my friend. I hope that everything works and that you start to feel less and less pain to the point where God just takes away the endo and fills your uterus with a baby! :) Much love to you. Sheri
