Day One: Post Tonsillectomy

Here's the scoop: Surgery when well. I had no adnoids (did you know they shrink with age?) so obviously didn't need those out. Dr. F told Keith my tonsils were swollen and pussy, so the decision was a good one. I didn't throw up nor feel any nausea when I woke up. The nurses were awesome and the IV nurse is excellent with a needle. While I was waiting, my chart was on the counter, so I peeked at it. Pretty interesting. The Roxicet and Motrin are working well to keep the pain down around a 1 (on scale 1 to 10). I can talk and eat small amounts of soft foods. Cannot eat large helpings yet, so I've just been grazing. I slept on the couch so I could sleep propped up since laying flat or on my side makes me feel like I'm choking (I think it the knobby thingy that so swollen). I'm running a low grade fever, but that's just par for the course. Keith woke me up at 4am b/c he suddenly got worried I was downstairs bleeding to death and couldn't call. Poor guy Gracie has been stuck to me like glue every since I got home. Keith has already chewed my butt about doing things around the house--wonder how long that'll last. Keith rented me the first disk to season three of West Wing and The Terminal. There is NOTHING on during the day, NOTHING!! I think I might feel well enough tomorrow to start working on DNiece's dress. I might hit a Wally's on Friday, I saw they had a leap pad for $20, but I"ll have to get there early to get one or two for Christmas presents. It's only 5 blocks away. Wish I could hit JoAnn's fabric and cash in on some the awesome coupons for there DAT sales. Well, getting sleepy again, so I'm gonna run. Rhonda
